NEWSLETTER FOR THE HALF TERM OF SECOND TERM 2017/18 (FEBRUARY, 2018).

APPRECIATION

This is another half term!

We thank God Almighty for seeing us thus far and we also appreciate you all for the continued support, inputs and especially prayers. God bless and keep you all. Amen

GENERAL
Resumption: We shall be resuming for the half term on Sunday 18th February, 2018. Students are advised to please check in on or before 6.00pm as the school gate will be shut at 6pm.

 

PTA Meeting: A meeting of the Parents’ Teachers’ Association of the school has been scheduled for Saturday 3rd,  March, 2018. Time is 10.00am.

 

ACADEMICS

First Continuous Assessment Test: The first continuous Assessment Test has just been concluded. The total score for this is 20%. The CA for next half term will also be 20% while the Second term examination will  be 60%.

 

Half Term Results: A half term result has been issued to all students travelling by the school arrangement. This is to enable parents who  are outside Abuja to see their children’s’ half term continuous assessment performance as some of them may not be able to attend the Open day. We hope to improve further on this.

 

Midterm Assignments: Owing  to the duration of the midterm, mid-term assignments have been given in some selected subjects across the  junior and the senior schools. These assignments are also displayed on the school’s websites: www.premiereacademyng.org

 

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) : Classes have started for the March edition of the SAT. The exam fee, including the textbook is seventy-five (N75, 000) naira only.

 

SS 3 Students: No midterm for all SS 3 students. They are expected to continue with their normal classes. So far, we commend this present set for conducting themselves in the right manner. We enjoin parents to please keep encouraging and praying for them.

 

EXTRA –CURRICULA

Visit to Old people’s Home: As we resume for this second half term, students of the Academy will be visiting the Old People’s Home. We enjoin all parents wishing to make donations  to please do so  in kinds (wrapper, provisions, toiletries etc) or cash.

 

Nigeria International Secondary Schools Model United Nations (NISSMUN):                                                        This year’s edition of NISSMUN will be coming up from 20th – 24th October, 2018.                                                The present SS 1 students are expected to attend as a delegate while some SS 2 students will attend as directors.                                                                                                

All Directors are expected to pay the sum of N95, 000. Deadline is 2nd March, 2018

Delegates will pay N105, 000. The deadline is 2nd April, 2018. All payments should be made into the School Account at SKYE BANK 1770084918 

 

Pocket Money: All students have  been issued the balance of their pocket money as at 31st December, 2017.  Please re-imburse where such pocket money has been depleted.

Toyota Dream Car Competition: Over twenty (20) students will be representing the school at the above competition organized by Toyota on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Abuja. Parents of concerned students will be contacted on the modalities and logistics. We appreciate you.

 

PASTORAL

Contraband: All contraband items such as perfume, markers, phones, money, electronic devices, suede shoes and polish etc, will be confiscated and destroyed. Parents are reminded to please crosscheck with their children before leaving home for school

Roll on deodorant is allowed (no perfume or spray please). No mufti  is allowed in the school.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SCHOOL HAS NOT AND WILL NEVER ASK YOUR CHILD TO BRING MONEY TO SCHOOL WITHOUT INFORMING YOU DIRECTLY.

Male Students: All male students must have their hair cut (no style please) and beards shaved (as applied).  Any defaulting students will not be checked in.

Branded Jersey used as pyjamas : All branded jersey used as pyjamas will no longer be allowed in the school. 

 

Female Students: The hair style for girls on resumption is ALL BACK FRONT PARTING. No attachment please.

All female students MUST come with their personal Combs, hair brush, hair cream, Hair shampoo and other necessities like clippers for girls that are carrying low cut.

UPCOMING EVENTS

1.      Spelling Bee Competition: Over twenty (20) Nursery & Primary Schools in Abuja have been invited. The date is 17th of February, 2018.

2.      Our first Entrance Examination across  the nation will hold on Saturday 24th February, 2018

3.      Social Science Day will come up on Friday 2nd March, 2018

4.      “Premiere Got Talent” comes on Saturday, 10th March, 2018

5.      The school closes for the second term on Wednesday, 28th March, 2018.
